UnionPay International and PayTabs have announced a strategic alliance that allows merchants from PayTabs to sell UnionPay Cards to customers who buy products and services online in the United Arab Emirates as an alternative payment method.
The partnership aims to support thousands of PayTabs merchants in retail, travel, hospitality, healthcare, education, F&B, and other industries to improve their customers’ checkout experience and thus increase their online sales conversion.
“We are in the business of assisting thousands of merchants globally to understand their customer’s local alternatives to making payments,” commented Abdulaziz Al Jouf, PayTabs CEO and founder on the collaboration
He further said the collaboration with UnionPay’s aim is to promote online shopping to make transactions from their premium merchant base in the United Arab Emirates for billions of UnionPay customers around the world.

At the same time, UnionPay Cardholders will benefit from various transaction categories with access to PayTabs merchants in the UAE, including everything from booking a taxi, ordering food, making a hotel reservation, to shopping online for clothes or groceries.
“In addition, the collaboration will also help boost local e-commerce and the overall economic development in the UAE and assist local merchants in expanding their customer base and transaction volume,” said Yang.
To date, eight billion UnionPay cards have been issued globally, offering access to this lucrative segment of cardholders with greater purchasing capacity for PayTabs merchants in the UAE.
