FEDEX Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp., launched a new freight service from Vietnam last October 31 using a dedicated B767 aircraft to its markets in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe.
The B767 freighter will fly four evenings a week from Ho Chi Minh City and will connect Asia and Europe through the FedEx Asia Pacific Hub in Guangzhou, China.
“We continue to transform our air network to offer differentiated service for our customers and that includes building capacity and creating faster connections to meet demand,” said Kawal Preet, FedEx Express Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa Region president.
“Moreover, the Tiger Economies of Southeast Asia continue to grow at an accelerated pace, with a forecast of 4.9-percent growth in 2024. What we see happening in Vietnam is a great example of these regional trends,” she added.
Kawal also said, “Our enhanced service in Vietnam is part of our journey to build a more flexible, efficient and intelligent network, and deliver an outstanding customer experience.”
FedEx Express said in a statement that exporters shipping from Southern Vietnam will benefit from faster transit times for shipments to the Philippines and major Asian markets in just one business day and two business days to Europe.
The new flights will offer additional capacity on top of the company’s current five flights to Asia, Europe and the United States.
